Diamonds get first points of season
After two disappointing defeats, it was the result that really mattered at Nene Park in the game against a team who had also failed to collect any points - Forest Green Rovers.
Although the game lacked any real quality, goals from Daniel Chillingworth and Simeon Jackson in either half gave Diamonds a deserved win against a very poor FGR side.
Once again Dave Savage took Man of the Match in most people's eyes - including the match sponsor this time, with Paul Watson also impressing.
Paul Hart had dropped Leo Fortune-West in favour of Simeon Jackson, whose partnership with Michael Rankine was far more mobile even if there is still some way to go before it strikes fear into opposing defences.
