At Last a Win for the Boys in Blue
In the proverbial "game of two halves" RDFC looked to be cruising to a comfortable win against Southport, after goals from Chillingworth and Watson had given them a half-time lead.
However, the chronic shortage of defenders was highlighted as the second half turned into a complete struggle after Paul Watson had to leave the game at Half-time.
Fortunately Southport are in the middle of a Striker crisis, and combined with some great keeping by Nicky Eyre, the Diamonds held on to win 2-1 after Southport pulled one back with a late penalty.
Once again the display was far from convincing, but at least the team has reached the mid-point of the Conference.
